This is a portfolio of some of my favourite photographs
Sunrise in St Ives
I was born at the seaside in North Spain. The sea is one of my favourite subjects to photograph.
This photograph was taking very early in the morning in St Ives using my Fujifilm GFX 100s. It is a great time to take photographs not only for the beautiful colours of the sunrise but to enjoy the piece and quietness that precedes the hectic days in St Ives.
Early morning in Venice
This is a winter sunrise in Venice. We were lucky it did not rain after such an early start. It is the best time to photograph Venice and I really enjoyed the empty streets. The long exposure reflects very well mood and colours of Venice.
Serene Walk at Sunset
I love the colours of this picture and its sense of calm. The colours and the reflections on the water were so intense, it is difficult to see where the sea ends and the sky starts.
Cornish Sunset
I can see a face on this rocks bathed by the sun staring at the sunset.
Steps to the sea
I love minimalistic black and white photography. This photograph was taken on a busy and sunny day at the port in Gijón (Spain). Stillness, you can always find your moment of calm and beauty even when surrounded by noise and bustle.
Hazel
This cloudy day at the seaside was an excellent opportunity for B&W photography.
The Meal
This is the only photograph on this porfolio that was not taken using my Fuji. I took the photograph with my iPhone 14. I saw a photo opportunity when I spotted the boys dressed up for a family meal. I took the photo in B&W which highlights the boys’ gaze and clothes as well as the patterns of the back of the photo and hides the red colour of the meat.
New York from Brooklyn
I love New York. It is my dream city to photograph. A few weeks ago, I was lucky to have a tour day in London with Phil Penman, who is a English photographer that lives in NY and has published several street photography books of New York. I look forward to doing his walks over there.
Summer Beach Day
This was a really hot and sunny summer day in the middle of the day. I took my camera, changed into B&W and walked the beach up and down trying to catch the sense of relaxation and fun summer holiday mood and activities.
Solitude
I took this photograph originally in colour but it did not work well. I think the B&W treatment gives it a nostalgic and mindful look.
Soap Bubble
Photography should be fun and I like trying to new styles. This photograph of a bubble of soap and glitter was taking using my macrolense.
Dahlia
I am a fan of very colourful photographs and B&W photography. After a talk by Andy Small at my local camera club, I got into his beautiful and simple style of macro photography of flowers.
